Author Guidelines
General Description
Journal of Drug Delivery and Biotherapeutics (JDDB) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal for the publication of research and review articles for the pharmaceutical sciences. The aim of JDDB is to encourage the new researchers to contribute for the enhancement of the impact of pharmaceutical research both in academia and industry. The special attention contributes on the quality and originality of the paper.
JDDB publishes Research Articles, Review Articles, Short Communications, and Case studies in all areas of pharmaceutical sciences.
JDDB covers all innovative topic such as Pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics; Pharmaceutical chemistry including medicinal and analytical chemistry; Pharmacognosy including herbal products standardization and Phytochemistry; Pharmacology: bioavailability, and drug absorption, nanomedicines, gene delivery, tissue engineering Allied sciences including drug regulatory affairs, Pharmaceutical Marketing, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Pharmaceutical biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Education and Hospital Pharmacy.
Ethics and Editorial Policies
All research and review published in Journal of Drug Delivery and Biotherapeutics (JDDB) must meet our rigorous technical and ethical standards.
Animal study in the research work
Studies in humans and animals
ARRIVE guidelines should be followed by the researchers and should be carried out in accordance with the U.K. Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, 1986 and associated guidelines, EU Directive 2010/63/EU for animal experiments.
The National Research Council's Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals and the authors should clearly indicate in the manuscript that such guidelines have been followed. The sex of animals must be indicated, and effect of the sex on the results must be mentioned (if any).
Declaration of interest
Authors must disclose any interests: 1. A summary declaration of interest statement should be in the title page file (if double anonymized) or the manuscript file (if single anonymized).
If there are no interests to declare then please state this: 'Declarations of interest: none'.
Language used
Articles should be in either American or british English language only throughout the manuscript and submitted from any country.
Author contributions
For transparency of the manuscript, we require corresponding authors to provide co-author contributions to the manuscript.
All the authors must indicate his/her role in the preparation of the manuscript. The roles are: Conceptualization; Formal analysis; Funding acquisition; Investigation; Methodology; Project administration; Resources; Software; Supervision; Validation; Visualization; Roles/Writing -original draft; and Writing - review & editing. Author notes that not all the role playing by all authors. Authors can ply multiple role and it is acceptable.
Changes to authorship
The sequence of the authors must be provided during the submission of the manuscript.
Before the acceptance the sequence and addition/deletion of the authors cannot be changed. It can be changed by the prior approval of the journal Editor before acceptance the paper. For this, the editor must receive the request letter from the corresponding authors.
Submission
The authors may submit the articles only through the online manuscript submission. Authors must submit the article in 2010 and above version of word MS office format.
All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, is sent by e-mail.
Article structure
Introduction
This should contain the objectives of the work and should provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey. It should contain the issues to be addressed in the manuscript.
Material and methods
This section should include complete information about the material and the analytical, statistical and experimental procedures to be used.
Results
Results should be clear and concise. The results should be relevant with the tables and figures provided in the manuscript.
Discussion
This should explore the significance of the results of the work, and the proof of the results with the appropriate references or citations in the manuscript.
Avoid extensive citations in this section. The statements made in the introduction should not be repeat here.
Conclusions
This section contains a short conclusion of the work which may stand alone or form a subsection of a Discussion or Results and Discussion section.
Acknowledgements: If necessary, a brief Acknowledgements section may be included.
Title page
Title. The first page or title page should contain Concise and informative title. Avoid abbreviations.
Author names and affiliations. Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check that all names are accurately spelled.
Indicate all affiliations with a lowercase superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name.
Corresponding author. Clearly indicate name and address of the corresponding author for all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication.
Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.
Abstract
Abstract should be concise. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results, and major conclusions. References should be avoided. Abstract should be about up to 250 words. The abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone.
Graphical abstract
A graphical abstract is mandatory for this journal.
Graphical abstracts should be submitted as a separate file in the online submission system.
The image should be readable at a size of 5 × 13 cm using a regular screen resolution of 96 dpi. Preferred file types: TIFF, EPS, PDF, or MS Office files.
Keywords
Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 6 keywords, using American spelling and avoiding general and plural terms and multiple concepts (avoid, for example, 'and', 'of').
Abbreviations
Abbreviations that are unavoidable must be defined at their first use in the manuscript. Ensure consistency of abbreviations throughout the article.
Supplementary material
Supplementary material should be sent on Excel or PowerPoint or word files that will appear as such online. Please submit your material together with the article and supply a concise, descriptive caption for each supplementary file.
Artwork
Font type: Times new roman and line spacing 1.5
Size: For heading or title: 14 points and Bold (Small Letters, not capitalize the titles unnecessarily unless required, e.g., HPLC, HPTLC, UV, GC, TLC, SEM, TEM, etc.)
Author/ Coauthors name: 11 points and Bold Affiliation/ Institute name: 10 points
For subtitles: 11 points and Bold Content of article :10 points Table title and Content: 8 points
General points to be considered during preparation of manuscript
- Font type should be uniform throughout the manuscript. Font type should be Arial, Courier, Times New Roman with font size 12. For heading font size 14 encouraged.
- Number the illustrations according to their sequence in the text.
- Provide captions to illustrations separately.
- Size the illustrations close to the desired dimensions of the published version.
- Submit each illustration as a separate file.
Ensure that color images are accessible to all, including those with impaired color vision.

Figure, image or drawing, halftones, and line/halftone
EPS (or PDF): Vector drawings, embed all used fonts.
TIFF (or JPEG): Color or grayscale photographs (halftones), keep to a minimum of 300 dpi.
TIFF (or JPEG): Bitmapped (pure black & white pixels) line drawings, keep to a minimum of 1000 dpi.
TIFF (or JPEG): Combinations bitmapped line/half-tone (color or grayscale), keep to a minimum of 500 dpi.
Color artwork
Please make sure that artwork files are in an acceptable format (TIFF (or JPEG), EPS (or PDF), or MS Office files) and with the correct resolution. If, together with your accepted article, you submit usable color figures then Elsevier will ensure, at no additional charge, that these figures will appear in color online (e.g., ScienceDirect and other sites) regardless of whether these illustrations are reproduced in color in the printed version.
Table and Figure captions
Each table and figures should indicate the appropriate the captions with illustration. Supply captions separately.
References
Authors must ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa).
If these references are included in the reference list, they should follow the standard reference style of the journal (Vancouver Bracket). Citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication. Use of the DOI is highly encouraged.
Example of DOI
An example of a citation using DOI for an article not yet in an issue is: VanDecar J.C., Russo R.M., James D.E., Ambeh W.B., Franke M. (2003). Aseismic continuation of the Lesser Antilles slab beneath northeastern Venezuela. Journal of Geophysical Research, https://doi.org/10.1029/2001JB000884.
Web references
As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed.
Reference management software
We accept the paper with citation and references that must inserted from the popular various reference manager software such as Mendeley.
If you use reference management software, please ensure that you remove all field codes before submitting the electronic manuscript.
Reference style should be Vancouver style.
Text: Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text. The actual authors can be referred to, but the reference number(s) must always be given.
Example: '..... as demonstrated [3,6] Barnaby and Jones [8] obtained a different result ....'
List: Number the references (numbers in square brackets) in the list in the order in which they appear in the text.

Flexibility
We provide flexibility to authors for the formatting their manuscripts. Your article doesn’t have to stick any strict structure. We do not enforce any limit on article length or the number of tables and figures to be included in the manuscript.
Article Submission Checklist
The following list must be checked before sending the paper.
- All manuscript and supplementary material files
- All author names and their affiliations have been provided correctly. The sequence of authors has been discussed and agreed upon with the co-authors.
- One author has been designated as corresponding author.
- Email address, phone number and postal address must be included.
- The manuscript title is short and informative.
- The abstract can be read as stand-alone text and does not exceed 300 words.
- The manuscript file contains Title, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Figure Captions, Tables.
- Page numbers are required
- Manuscript has been checked for spelling and grammar.
- References are in the correct format for this journal (Vancour style)
- All references mentioned in the References list are cited in the text, and vice versa.
- Artwork source files have been provided at the appropriate size and resolution.
- All necessary declarations have been made.

After acceptance corresponding authors will receive an e-mail with a link for the publication of the paper.
